Jesus came and gave us only 2 things that can REALLY affect our lives. He told us To love God, our Creator and love our neighbor as ourselves.
He said forsaking all else, we should remember that and we'll be alright.
THAT WAS THE MESSAGE. All the other things he said or did are meaningless to us. Only these words really matter.
But what is Christianity really about? We spend 90% of our time doing rituals! Pray to be healed, go to church, celebrate feast days, tithe, sing, pray for more money, talk in tongues, prophecy, exorcise demons, mimic healing in the name of Jesus etc .... Of course we all know what's important but where do we focus? Are there more "Love your neighbor campaigns" or more "Miracle crusades"?
Where are the big holidays commemorating Loving your neighbor? or Loving God? What we have are holidays about pointless trivia like birthdays and times of death. It's all about JESUS CHRIST WAS BORN ON CHRISTMAS DAY and we should probably..like love each other or something and love the Creator as well..I guess.
Isn't it obvious why the world is so fucked up, yet predominantly Christian? We're ALL doing it wrong.
